What Is the Void Realm and How Does It Work?
The void realm is the focal point of the DBD Halloween Event 2025. It is a negative dimension that has adapted with The Entity’s Realm, resulting in rifts and voids throughout every trial.
At the match’s beginning, one portal to the Void will automatically open. Players can also unseal additional Void Rifts with Void Energy, a unique event resource.
Players earn Void Energy by:
- Repairing Generators
- Hooking or downing Survivors
- Stunning or blinding the Killer
- Destroying Pumpkins
- Collecting Void Orbs

All the Void Energy you collect can be spent inside the Void Well, located at the center of the Void Realm. This is where players craft Void items, temporary and powerful tools that can change the course of a match.
For Survivors: The Void Crystal
The Void Crystal is this year’s star item for Survivors. It has two main functions:
- Smoke Bomb: Shatters to create a dense smokescreen, making you invisible within its effect and hiding your scratch marks.
- Remote Generator Repair: Place it on a Generator to have it automatically repair at a slower rate (0.8% per second for up to 30 seconds). This can complete up to 24% of a Generator’s progress, but Killers can destroy it to stop the effect.
For Killers: The Captured Haunt
Killers can use Void Energy to summon Captured Haunts, eerie spectral projectiles that can injure Survivors or make them scream. Each Haunt also boosts the Killer’s Break Action Speed, letting them destroy pallets or walls faster.
Breaking a pallet consumes a Haunt, so strategy is key. These ghostly companions add a whole new layer of fear to the hunt.
What Are Pumpkins and How Do They Work?
Pumpkins are scattered throughout each map, some friendly, some not. When you crush them, you gain +3 Void Energy and possibly a temporary effect:
- Treat Pumpkins (35% chance): Boost speed with Haste (+25%) for 6 seconds.
- Trick Pumpkins (5% chance): Slow you with Hindered (-10%) for 6 seconds.
- Neutral Pumpkins (60% chance): No effect, but still worth smashing for Void Energy.
So yes, kick every pumpkin you see. Just be ready for a trick instead of a treat.
What Rewards and Currency Can You Earn?
Like past years, Haunted By Daylight 2025 brings back the limited-time event currency Dark Trinkets. You earn them by completing Event Quests, and they can be traded for event cosmetics, charms, banners, and more.

- One-Time Login Bonus: 100 Dark Trinkets
- Daily Rewards: 100,000 Bloodpoints + 500 Iridescent Shards per day
- Logging in every day can net you a total of 1,000,000 Bloodpoints, 1,000 Iridescent Shards, and 100 Dark Trinkets.
