The Witcher Season 5 Update: Netflix Confirms Renewal and Series Finale Plans

Fans of The Witcher have one big question right now, Is Netflix still continuing the series after Season 4? The answer is yes, but with a catch.

Netflix has officially confirmed that The Witcher will return for a fifth season, but it will also be the final one.

So, while we’re getting more of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer, this upcoming season will mark the end of the story.

Will There Be The Witcher Season 5?

Season 5 of The Witcher is already in production. Production had allegedly begun in early 2025, and it will adapt the final two novels in Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher saga, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake.

These tales will provide a thrilling conclusion to the adventures of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.

The Witcher Season 5 Release Date

While the release date is not officially announced at this time, given how long it took to produce The Witcher Season 4, fans might see The Witcher Season 5 in late 2026.

The timeline of The Witcher Season 4 started production in April of 2024, and then premiered on Netflix in October 2025, so that makes sense to have a similar timeline for Season 5.

Any future season of The Witcher has yet to be confirmed or announced.

Final Thoughts

The Witcher first appeared on Netflix in December 2019, rapidly becoming one of the most notable fantasy hits in the history of the platform. With the mix of monsters, magic, and deep storytelling, the show developed a vast audience.

As Season 5 prepares to wrap up the story arc, it appears Netflix wants to wrap the show in a deliberate manner instead of spinning it out.

To sum up, The Witcher is not canceled, but it is ending, and there is one season left to enjoy before Geralt rides off into the sunset for good.
