On 24 August 2025, Amazon Prime wrapped up the Final season of its sci-fi series, Upload. As amazing as this season was with some mind-boggling plot, the ending of season 4 has left everyone with teary eyes.

The season begins on a beautiful note, where Nora and Nathan are getting married in a virtual replay, as it is assumed that Nathan is dead. However, in present times, the digital Nathan, who is in control of Horizen, is preparing to get married to Ingrid. Because of this, Nora can be seen upset and replaying their wedding in the VR to deal with this heartbreaking situation.
Everything was going as per Horizen’s evil plan until Nora discovered a shocking truth that altered the current scenario.

What Happened To Nathan In Season 4? Is Nathan Dead?
As the Upload season 4 was about to wrap up, with Horizen succeeding in his plan to get digital Nathan and Ingrid married. But, in the end, Nora finds that Horizen faked Nathan’s death and kept him alive to conduct experiments in an unknown place.
However, the continuous experiments on his brain have caused damage to his brain to an extreme extent. Although he manages to escape from Horizen with the help of an employee working there, sadly, it’s too late for him. Everyone tries their best to revive Nathan’s brain, including the AI guy, but his condition keeps getting worse over time.
Being aware of the fact that he doesn’t have much time, Nathan makes sure to spend his last moments with his real-life wife, Nora. To relive the moment, she uses VR to replay their wedding. To make the best of the last few moments they have together, the couple visits other places in the simulation. When Nathan was on his last breath, he told Nora to move on with her life and find happiness. He passes peacefully with Nora by his side.
In the final scene, Nora can be seen visiting a café from her simulated honeymoon with Nathan. Keeping her promise to Nathan, she finally begins to live her life out in simulation.
Conclusion
Though Nora and Nathan didn’t get to experience a happy ending, watching Nora finally live her life out of simulation and spend the rest of her life with the memories of her and Nathan.
